All quiet on the western front

So tough to do nothing!

Tick tock, tick tock, cells dividing and growing, strengthening their foothold. And the western forces wait. Wait to be sure exactly what they are facing. Their attacks are harsh on the body, so they need to be sure what weaponry to use. Not until the cancer is strong enough to be recognized, can the forces react. And so it grows!

So why not look to the east. No harm no foul, nourish the body to help it ward off the invader.

The Bill Special

I rage at the simplest of things. (okay rage may be a bit strong) I take exception, I fight back, rallying for my cause, driving the other into submission. Direct TV, Fed Ex, Ebay vendors - whoever does me wrong. Telephone calls upon telephone calls, followed by letters delivered up the latter. I will have my way. My family calls it 'the bill special'. "Get dad to give 'em the bill special" - one of my sons will say. My wife and sons, each has their favorite time overhearing me on the phone.

And my Dad's melanoma may have spread to his lungs. Tiny dots on an xray. No one sure what they might be. "Let's wait and see", they say. "Take another snapshot in 2 more weeks. Maybe then we'll know". And I feel like raging. It wells up within me. Give them the bill special. Get them to figure it out - and figure it out now!

What a futile battle I want to wage. The battle against aging. The battle against mortality. The battle to ward off death. The death of my dad. I want to bring my full armaments to bear and target it at the doctors, but they are just the whipping boy. The real culprit is outside my reach.
